FAQ

Awana Frequently Asked Questions

  1. Q.What does “Awana” stand for?

  2. R.“Awana” is an acronym for “Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed” -2 Timothy 2:15.

  3. Q.Do we have to be members of SouthSide Community to attend Awana?

  4. R.No! Although we would love to have you attend our church, it is not necessary. Your family will be invited to special events (award ceremony) on selected Sundays.

  5. Q.Can my child bring visitors to Awana Club nights?

  6. R.Absolutely. We welcome visitors. If possible, please print and have the Parents complete the Visitor Registration Form and bring it to club - it will make sign-in much smoother!

  7. Q.Can I stay with my child during Awana Club?

  8. R.We welcome Parents/Guardians at any time. Feel free to watch or sit with your child.  If you are interested in becoming a helper or leader, please see Commander Will.

  9. Q.My child has a uniform from another club/last year....do we need to purchase another one?

  10. R.If the uniform is from the same club, No! If they are moving up into the next club, there are different uniforms, so yes.

  11. Q.Who are the leaders teaching my children?

  12. R.Awana leaders are volunteers that have been interviewed by the Pastor and Commander, undergone a background and security check, and demonstrated a sincere desire to reach children with the Gospel of Christ.
